The mobile libraries project is a qualitative leap in library services.

The library seeks to spread culture and knowledge to the masses of Egyptian society, and due to the lack of public libraries in all population centers within the governorates of Cairo and Giza, the library decided to start the mobile libraries project after the approval of the Board of Directors, and a microbus was prepared as a mobile library affiliated with the Egypt Public Library, and (4) were purchased. Mobile libraries affiliated with the main library and its two branches in Zaytoun and Al-Zawya Al-Hamra. The Egyptian public library system seeks to generalize the establishment of mobile libraries in all governorates of Egypt that have library branches for the library as a national project to reach books to all villages and hamlets in the different governorates of Egypt, and a number (7) have already been purchased. Mobile libraries belonging to the Egyptian Public Libraries Fund were distributed to six governorates: Qena, Assiut, Luxor, Damietta, Beheira, and Dakahlia, and the preparation of mobile libraries in the remaining governorates is being completed as part of the Decent Life Initiative.

 

Mobile libraries provide the same services and activities as a fixed library, especially book lending services. They make a fixed monthly visit to places to provide the possibility of borrowing and returning books to subscribers to their services, in addition to providing various activities for children, offering one-day workshops, and some training programs and awareness-raising activities for beneficiaries. There has become a wide sector of users who They renew their subscriptions annually with the mobile libraries to benefit from their services, and the number of active subscribers of the first mobile library affiliated with the main library reached more than 40 active members.
